Here is a plan that will help you complete the study guide in one week, learn new vocabulary, collocations, sentence structure & grammar, and remember everything, all while improving your listening skills!

Learning new material takes a lot of repetition. You need to hear and read something many times before you can remember it and use it conversation. You don’t want to do everything as quickly as possible, and then forget everything you learned the next day!

This plan is just a suggestion! If you have tried your own plan, tell us about it in the comment section below!

Day 1

• listen to the story (slow or fast) a few times (Don’t read the words and don’t panic if you don’t understand the whole story. Just listen!)
• read through core vocabulary list and look up any words you don’t know
• do core vocabulary and collocation activities

Day 2

• listen to the story again (slow or fast) a few times
• do the paragraph activities
• review core vocabulary again

Day 3

• while listening to the story, do one or more of the gap fill activities OR do the activity I describe in How to Practice Listening
• do the listening comprehension activities

Day 4

• listen to story again once or twice
• complete the post-listening activities

Day 5

• listen to story again once or twice
• read the grammar section and do the activities
• listen to and read the pronunciation section

Day 6

• try to write the story from memory!

You should now feel like you know & understand the story, and you can retell the story to someone.
