4th blogiversary

Today we continue the blogiversary celebrations with the four most popular grammar lessons!

What is a ‘blogiversary’? It’s an anniversary of a blog!

October 15, 2013 is the blogiversary of EnglishTeacherMelanie.com!

I published the very first post on this blog on October 15, 2009.

Thank you so much for four amazing years!

Grammar.

It’s important to learn grammar. It’s important to learn the structure of a language and how it is different from your native language.

It’s also important not to obsess over grammar! Learn grammar, but unless you are studying for a university degree in English grammar, don’t obsess over the names of grammar points or why English grammar is the way it is.

I write grammar posts to make the “rules” easier to understand. Most importantly, I try to show you how to use grammar in your everyday conversations. Knowing how to use English is more important than knowing why a grammar “rule” exists.

Here are the 4 most popular grammar lessons on this blog:

#1. How to Use the Verb Suggest
‘Suggest’ is a verb that most English learners use incorrectly, because it’s an unusual verb. It is not used in a sentence the same way that other verbs are.

#2. When NOT to Use ‘the’
‘The’ is such a small word, but it causes so much confusion!

#3. Understanding ‘So’ and ‘Too’
This is one of the longest posts on this blog, because there is so much to explain!

#4. The 1st Conditional Sentence Structure
This is part 2 of a four-part series on all the conditional sentence structures. Click here to see all the conditional explanations.

Thank you for celebrating with me & thank you for your support!
